This newspaper, "L'Eldorado," presents itself as a gateway to a golden land, yet it is made of ephemeral paper and ink. Note the regal lion rampant. This symbol, historically signifying courage and nobility, once graced medieval coats of arms. Observe how the lion persists, now repurposed to endorse 'Docteur Pierre'. Here we see the transformation of symbols across time. Once emblems of power, they are now enlisted to sell health and status. It’s a far cry from the lion-hearted knights of old. The image of the lion unconsciously evokes a feeling of trust and quality. The cyclical nature of cultural symbols interests me; how they resurface, evolve, and take on new meanings in different historical contexts. It is a testament to our collective memory and subconscious.
