This watercolor study, titled "Studie efter Raphaels "Skolen i Athen", Vatikanet. Desuden kommentarer til samme billede samt til "Gravlæggelsen", formentlig maleriet med samme motiv af Jerichau selv," was created by the Danish artist J.A. Jerichau (II) between 1913 and 1914. The artwork, currently housed at the Statens Museum for Kunst in Copenhagen, is a small-scale study of Raphael's famous fresco "The School of Athens," likely intended for Jerichau's own painting, "The Burial" (a subject known to have interested him). The study showcases Jerichau's interpretation of Raphael's composition, demonstrating his artistic prowess and sensitivity to the work of his predecessors.
