Editor: So, this is Peter Sedgley's "Looking Glass No. 2." It's quite simple, a red circle on a blue square, but the colours are so striking. What do you make of it? Curator: The circle, a potent symbol across cultures, here pulsates with red, often tied to energy and passion. Against the blue, a colour of serenity, we have a visual dichotomy. Does the red entrap or liberate the blue, and vice versa? Editor: That's a good question. I hadn't considered that push and pull. Curator: These colours trigger memories and associations, built into our shared visual language over millennia. It prompts a dialogue about what we project onto simple forms. Editor: I'll certainly look at abstract art differently now. Curator: Indeed, art reflects and refracts our own inner landscapes.
