Editor: Here we have an untitled piece, a drawing really, by Sorin Dumitrescu. It’s a fascinating abstract composition – earthy tones, geometric forms. It kind of reminds me of some ancient map…or maybe an eclipse? I'm immediately drawn to the circle, but then my eye travels to the surrounding lines and marks. What do you see in this piece? Curator: I see whispers of stories, wouldn't you agree? Dumitrescu invites us into a space where geometry meets the organic. It's as though he's unearthed a fragment of a lost civilization's blueprint, something deeply personal, encoded, perhaps. That central shape, the bisected circle, hums with a quiet tension – a balancing act between light and shadow, seen and unseen. Editor: I like the 'lost blueprint' idea. And I hadn't really considered that tension you mentioned. Curator: Yes, it's in the details, isn’t it? Look closely at how he contrasts those meticulously drawn lines with the almost haphazard washes of watercolor, that dance of control and chance. Does it suggest to you that he wants to leave things unsaid, secrets perhaps? Or maybe invite each of us to finish the story. Editor: Absolutely. It’s much more dynamic than I initially thought. I love how different it feels now, after our chat! Thanks. Curator: My pleasure. Art is nothing without our individual connections, is it? Now it's part yours, which I'm delighted about.
