Curator: The interaction of mass and void is quite striking. Note how the density of the black contour is activated by the subtle grid within the negative space. Does this tension affect the perceived volume of the work? Editor: It definitely feels like the black form is pressing inward, almost flattening the space. I hadn't noticed the grid before, either.
