This is a postcard to Willem Bogtman, and it's fascinating because it shows us that even something as mundane as a note to a friend can be a kind of art. I love the way the script is so fluid and loose, like a drawing. Look at how the ink pools and thins in certain spots, giving a real sense of the hand moving across the paper. And the way the lines curve and loop, it almost doesn't matter what the words say, the feeling is all there in the shapes and rhythms. This isn't just information, it's a performance! It reminds me of Cy Twombly's scribbled paintings or some of the Fluxus artists who used text and ephemera in their work. It’s about seeing the art in the everyday and recognizing the potential for expression in everything we do. It’s a really lovely reminder that art is more of an ongoing conversation than something fixed.
