Curator: Leonard McComb's "Rhododendrons" captures a fleeting moment. It feels like a whisper of a memory, doesn't it? Editor: It's incredibly subtle, almost disappearing. The materials look delicate. What kind of paper is this on? Curator: I see it as more than just an image of flowers; it's a meditation on ephemerality, like holding a dream in your hands. Editor: Agreed, but I'm struck by the labor. All those tiny pencil strokes to build up that hazy form must have been incredibly time-consuming. Curator: Yes, and that intensity of focus, the artist imbuing the mundane with a sense of the sacred. It's so McComb. Editor: Well, however quietly, it speaks to the value we place on handmade art in our machine-made world. Curator: Beautifully put. Editor: Thanks. There's a lot to unpack from seemingly simple art.
