Editor: This untitled piece by Felix Rozen presents these intriguing bands of blue markings on a light background. It almost looks like some kind of code or musical score. What do you see in this piece? Curator: The repetitive nature of these marks and their arrangement reminds me of textile production or perhaps early computing methods like punch cards. The labor involved in their creation is palpable. Can we consider these marks a form of material language? Editor: Material language, that's a great way to put it. It really makes you think about the labor and the materials that went into it. Curator: Exactly! And how Rozen elevated this 'language' into art challenges traditional notions of artistic skill. Thinking about the materials used, how do they speak to you?
