Anton Prinner made this bronze sculpture, "La Femme Aux Grandes Oreilles," with an approach that feels both ancient and modern, primal even. The surface isn’t smooth, you can see the marks of the making, like ghostly fingerprints, traces of the artist’s hand. The color is interesting, like tarnished metal, shades of green and brown, giving it an earthy quality. And those eyes! They're so round and wide, like she's seen something unbelievable. The artist isn’t trying to hide the process. It’s all there. I see a connection with outsider artists like Madge Gill, who channeled visions into art. They both create these intense, personal worlds and invite us in to explore. It’s not about perfection; it's about expression, about embracing the weird and wonderful. Art isn't about answers, but about asking questions.
