Sol LeWitt made this wild quilt of color and geometry, probably with ink or colored pencil on paper. Imagine him hunched over this, meticulously filling in each triangle, one after another. There's a tension here, right? Between the rigid structure and the playful color choices, the olive greens butted up against the reds. It's almost psychedelic, like a kaleidoscope stuck on repeat. I wonder if he started with a system, a plan, or if it all just kind of evolved as he went. You know, painting and drawing is like that. You start with an idea, but the materials take over, the hand does its own thing. Maybe LeWitt was thinking about the way colors vibrate against each other, or maybe he was just enjoying the simple act of making. It reminds me of some of Agnes Martin's grids, but with a total different vibe. It's all connected, isn't it? We're all just riffing off each other, trying to figure things out, one triangle at a time.
