This is Onde IV by Pablo Palazuelo, and it’s all about a dance of deep, saturated reds. Imagine him layering these colors, a slow building of form and depth. The shapes feel like they're emerging rather than being fixed. I wonder what Palazuelo was thinking as he built up these forms? Maybe he was exploring the relationship between form and space, trying to find the sweet spot where they almost become the same thing. I love how the dark reds pull back, letting the brighter hues float forward. It’s like the painting breathes, pushing and pulling, inviting you to get lost in its depths. The subtle variations in tone give it this incredible richness. You can see how artists like Palazuelo paved the way for so many of us to experiment with color and form. It's a reminder that painting is an ongoing conversation, each artist responding to and building upon what came before.
