Superficie verde 

Enrico Castellani created this "Superficie verde," or "Green Surface," which presents us with a canvas not just to look at, but to experience. At first glance, you are struck by the vibrant yet muted green that dominates. However, it's the structured pattern of protrusions that truly defines the piece. Castellani disturbs the flat picture plane through a systematic manipulation of the canvas. By puncturing the surface from behind, he creates a series of raised points that introduce shadow and depth.
