Editor: Here we have Kim Lim's "Blue Wash" from the Tate collection. It's a dreamy square of teal strokes. What do you feel when you look at it? Curator: Well, it feels deeply personal, doesn't it? Like peering into someone's inner ocean. The diagonal strokes give it movement, like wind over water, yet there's a stillness too. Do you see that interplay? Editor: Yes! I see both movement and stillness. Is that why she called it "Blue Wash" rather than say, "Blue Ocean"? Curator: Exactly! The "wash" is a technique, but also a feeling. It's the artist's mood, her meditation made visible. What do you take away from it? Editor: That even something simple can hold so much depth and emotion.
