"Yanina-C" by Victor Vasarely, I'm guessing was made with stencils, and a precise vision. Look at these clean, geometric forms, these shapes, floating in blues, greens and yellows! I can imagine Vasarely carefully plotting it all out, like a mathematician or an architect. I'm thinking he wanted to create an illusion of depth. Are these shapes receding, or are they popping out at us? Is it flat or three-dimensional? This play with perception feels almost like a challenge, a visual puzzle for the viewer to solve, or perhaps enjoy without solving. It reminds me of Bridget Riley’s Op Art. These artists, always pushing the boundaries of what painting can do. It's like they're not just painting objects, but experiences. They are engaged in conversation across time, inspiring us to see the world in new, unexpected ways.
