Robert Peak made this collage for the film The Liquidator, maybe in the late 60's. I wonder what it was like to be Peak assembling this image, cutting and pasting it together. The figures are so disjointed, but I imagine the artist putting them together piece by piece. The composition is wild, with a large face in the middle and bodies flying around. There is a male figure in a suit with little guns as the pattern - I think there are some things you can only get away with once! I sympathize with Peak - it is a challenge to create an arresting image out of stock imagery. It reminds me of what Rauschenberg was doing at that time, only for commercial purposes. All image making is a conversation, and it is neat to see the dialogue between art and commercial design.
