Robert McGinnis made this poster for "Live and Let Die," and it's like he's dealing us a hand of pure cinematic excitement. I can almost imagine him in his studio, wrestling with the composition, trying to capture the essence of Bond. Look at the tarot cards rising above the water, each a little window into the film's themes. There's the Devil, Death, Lovers, and Fortune all playing their part in this high-stakes game. The colors pop, don't they? A mix of warm oranges, reds, and cool blues, creating this tension. It reminds me of those old pulp covers, but with a wink and a nudge. There's a conversation happening here, between McGinnis and all those artists who came before him. The artist puts his vision to work, but what really comes to life is how he gets to play.
