Benjamin Wright (1575-1655) was an English engraver and mapmaker known for his detailed and accurate cartographic work. He produced a wide range of maps, including those of the British Isles, Europe, and the Americas, often incorporating intricate details of coastlines, cities, and geographical features. His work also included engravings of genealogical trees, such as "The Royal Progenie of our most sacred king James by the Grace of God, &c. Derived from ye Western Kings, &c.", showcasing his skill in representing historical figures and events. Wright’s engravings contributed significantly to the advancement of cartography during the 17th century, providing valuable insights into the world's geography for scholars, navigators, and the general public.
