"Ceres derided by Stellio" is a 17th-century etching by Karel van Mander III. The artwork depicts a scene from Ovid's Metamorphoses, where the Roman goddess Ceres is ridiculed by Stellio, a creature with the body of a lizard and a human head, for her grief over the loss of her daughter Proserpina. This scene is rendered in a realistic style with detailed figures and a dramatic use of light and shadow, characteristic of the etching technique. The work is currently housed in the Statens Museum for Kunst (SMK) in Copenhagen.
