This vibrant bag, made with embroidery, makes me think about how we construct our worlds. The dense stitching in hot pinks, oranges, and greens shows off an incredible amount of work and attention to detail. Up close, the geometric patterns are filled with tiny mirrors that catch the light. Each stitch, each color choice, feels like a deliberate act, a building block in the overall design. The texture alone is enough to make your fingers itch to touch it. It’s not just decorative; it's a way of seeing, of mapping out a personal vision. That central flower motif, echoed throughout the piece, is a perfect example. It reminds me of the quilts of Gee's Bend, where everyday materials are transformed into works of art through process and improvisation. Artmaking as a conversation? Absolutely. This bag is proof.
