Editor: So, this is "22.05.16, Lyric Composition" from 2016, by Andrzej Nowacki. It’s definitely striking. All those lines create this kind of pulsating visual field...almost like looking through a screen. It feels very precise, yet somehow still… dreamlike? What do you make of it? Curator: Dreamlike is spot on! For me, it evokes that sensation when you're on the cusp of waking, those lingering abstract images just before clarity hits. The vertical lines, the almost vibrating colours – it's like a visual hum, isn’t it? What do you think gives it that rhythmic quality? Editor: Well, there’s the obvious repetition. But also the colour choices – the way some of those warmer squares almost seem to float against the cooler background. Curator: Exactly! It’s a delicious tension. Nowacki’s work often plays with this interplay between the ordered and the… well, the slightly unhinged. It's rigid but fluid at the same time, very cool, if you let it wash over you. It’s like a meticulously planned improvisation. Editor: I see what you mean. At first glance, it seems very calculated, minimalist even, but then your eyes start to play tricks on you. Curator: Ah, the trickster artist strikes again! But that’s where the “lyric” part comes in, I think. It isn't just a composition; it's a feeling. And who doesn't love being tricked by a master? Editor: Definitely shifts my perspective. I came in thinking "hard-edge painting," but I am leaving thinking "visual poem". Curator: Wonderful. These are the treasures that keep on giving if you listen closely to them.
