Miniature Kovsh c. 1900

This small, delicate *kovsh* (a type of drinking vessel) is made of pale green nephrite jade and decorated with a gold and enamel medallion featuring a portrait of a woman, likely a prominent figure from the 19th century, and is thought to have been made by Henrik Wigström around 1900. The medallion is set on a gilded ribbon that attaches to the *kovsh* and further enhances its intricate design. The *kovsh* is part of the Art Institute of Chicago's collection.
