This is Janos Mattis-Teutsch’s Composition, and it's a wild, swirling ride of oil on canvas. It looks like it was made in one sitting, maybe in the heat of the moment. The brushstrokes are super direct, you can see how he loaded the brush and just went for it. Check out the way he uses these bold colors like blues, greens, reds, and pinks. They aren't blended so much as laid down next to each other. Look at how the dark lines create these oval shapes that loop around each other, it makes the whole thing feel like it's vibrating. This piece reminds me of Kandinsky, how he uses abstraction to express emotion and spiritual ideas, but Mattis-Teutsch brings his own raw energy to it. It’s not about perfection, it’s about the sheer joy of painting, of letting the colors and shapes dance together.
