Lorenzo Belenguer made this ‘Body #1’, and it looks like it was made with ink on paper. There's a real sense of immediacy in it, like it just flowed right out. I love how the stark black lines of the figure contrast with these playful splashes of blue and yellow. It's not about perfection, you know? The ink blots aren't contained but bleed outwards, and that's what makes it so appealing to me. The texture of the paper peeks through, making it feel intimate, like a page torn right from the artist's sketchbook. The line that defines the spine is particularly interesting – it’s so direct and sure, almost a dare. There's something raw and honest here, a simplicity that reminds me of Matisse, but with its own kind of punk energy. It feels like a fresh take on seeing and making, celebrating the beauty in imperfection.
