Carolina Onnen assembled this photo album page, titled 'Six photos from a trip to Egypt,' but no date is listed. I wonder what it was like for her to collect these images, carefully pasting each one onto the page. Perhaps she’d just returned from her travels, still buzzing with the sights and sounds of Egypt. Look at the way she's arranged the photos – a pyramid with a camel and rider to the upper left, palm trees, what she called 'Winter Palace', and architectural ruins. Each one seems to capture a different aspect of her journey. I’m drawn to the handwritten labels beneath each photo, a personal touch that transforms the page into a travelogue, but also a work of art. You can almost feel the heat of the sun and hear the echoes of ancient history in each image. It reminds me that every photograph is not just a snapshot of a place, but also a reflection of the person behind the lens. Artists are always in conversation, aren't they?
