This is Carolina Onnen’s photo album page showing Loentje and Frank Furnée with friends in the Rivièra. The photos are these little windows, right? Each one showing us a different way to look at what happened. I always feel a little pang when I see an image like this. It's like the artist is trying to freeze a moment, to catch something that's already gone. What was she thinking when she snapped these pictures? Were they laughing? Joking? I love how some are close-ups, and others take in the whole sweep of the Riviera. There’s a casualness to it, like snapshots from a vacation. And that border of the page? It's like the edge of a thought, holding all these memories together. For me, art is always about trying to hold onto something, even as it slips away. It is a timeless language that speaks across generations, reminding us that we’re all just trying to make sense of the world, one snapshot at a time.
