Curator: Here we have "A" by Kim Lim. Though undated, we know she was active from the 1950s through the 1990s. Editor: It’s so quiet. The soft grays, the subtle layering… almost meditative. Curator: Lim's work often explores spatial relationships and the interplay of light and shadow. She was associated with a minimalist aesthetic but had a deep interest in the spiritual. Editor: I see repetition with slight variation, which gives me a sense of rhythm. I wonder if the lines represent rain or perhaps sound waves? Curator: It's interesting how Lim’s background—born in Singapore, educated in London—influenced her artistic vision. She bridged Eastern and Western aesthetics in a unique way. Editor: Absolutely. The work almost invites us to quiet the noise and contemplate, maybe find our own place within those converging lines. Curator: Indeed. It prompts us to consider simplicity as a powerful form of expression. Editor: A good reminder in our overly complex world.
