Curator: Bernard Cohen, born in 1933, created this work entitled "Print 2" which resides in the Tate collection. Editor: It feels like a sigh of relief after a long, complicated story. So simple, almost minimalist, but...deliberate. Curator: Its simplicity invites a reading that is embedded in the theories of modernism and the artist’s interest in exploring perception through abstraction. Editor: I see a quiet rebellion against chaos. The dots, marching toward…what? Clarity? A final, bright statement? Maybe it is a comment on how we search for meaning in a noisy world. Curator: The use of color and form invites reflection on systems of power and the ways visual vocabularies can subvert expectations. Editor: The negative space feels pregnant with possibility. It allows the mind to wander, to fill in the blanks, to complete the narrative. For me, it is a reminder that sometimes, less really is more.
