Dragan Ilić Di Vogo painted "Na pravom mestu" – which I think means “In the right place” – with oils, and look at the way he’s blended them. It's so smooth, almost like a photograph. The texture here is fascinating. The woman’s dress looks like satin, and next to her is this statue – is it marble, or painted plaster? The light catches all these surfaces so differently, and those subtle shifts in tone create such a dreamy effect. I get lost in how he creates this vision with such fine control of the medium. And that sphere she's holding. It's like a little world, isn’t it? All those tiny brushstrokes, building up this whole new world. When you look closer it is like the artist is constructing his own universe, mark by mark. It reminds me a little of Magritte and Balthus; it's like the start of a really weird fairy tale.
