David Kakabadzé's "Constructive-decorative composition" is a boxy construction, a kind of proto-collage, using paint, metal, and perhaps some glass. It's all about the process of making, thinking, and seeing. I love the muted colour palette, a kind of dusty rose, a little bruised. Then you have the physical stuff: little metal circles and squares, bits of wire, and this gorgeous curving swoosh that feels both playful and architectural. It's like a deconstructed face staring back at you. Take a closer look at the top corner where the weird little box is. Is that a tiny diorama? A peep show? The whole thing has a Dada-esque feel, reminiscent of Kurt Schwitters, in its embrace of found objects. But it's also deeply personal, like a little world Kakabadzé built for himself. Art isn't about answers; it's about the questions that never stop.
