Rodolfo Arico's 'L'oggetto tenebroso di Paolo Uccello' is this fascinating arrangement of muted color blocks, like a puzzle pieced together from a midnight dream. I can imagine Arico, brush in hand, layering those blues and greens, each stroke a quiet meditation. Look at the surface—how the colors shift in tone. There's a real push and pull; I bet Arico was thinking about how these blocks could create space, and volume. It’s kind of like he's saying, "Let's see how far we can push this idea of making space using only color.” There's something really satisfying about the way Arico balances stillness with dynamism. I find myself thinking of Ellsworth Kelly, another artist so committed to colour and form. Artists are always in conversation, right? Each one picking up where another leaves off. Painting is such an open-ended process, and there’s no right or wrong way to do it. We can all bring our own experiences and perspectives to the table and find something meaningful in the artwork.
