This untitled print by Gordinne at the Rijksmuseum, well it’s like a comic strip, capturing all the silly drama of life, you know? The color palette is pretty simple; muted reds, greens, and blues that create a harmonious balance and give the piece a naive, childlike charm. There's something endearing about the rough linework, like a kid scribbling with crayons. And, the way Gordinne fills each panel, it's like they're painting tiny stage sets. Each little detail – the way a character gestures, or the pattern on the wallpaper – adds to the story. You know, it reminds me a bit of Honoré Daumier’s satirical lithographs, but with a gentler touch. It's art that’s not afraid to laugh at itself, and that's something I can definitely get behind.
