Serge Brignoni conjured this dreamscape on canvas with what looks like oil paint, maybe some pastel, and a whole lot of imagination. I love how he's built up these translucent figures, layer upon layer, like memories or ghosts. The colors are muted – pale greens, whites, and grays – yet punctuated with these zings of red, yellow, and black. Look at the way those black lines dance across the center figure, almost like musical notes. I wonder what Brignoni was thinking when he made this? Was he trying to capture the feeling of a fleeting moment? Or maybe he was just playing with shapes and colors, letting the painting guide him where it wanted to go. It reminds me a bit of Kandinsky, but with a softer, more whimsical touch. You can sense the conversation between artists happening across time, inspiring each other to see the world in new ways. Painting can do that. It’s a place to explore ambiguity, to embrace the unexpected, and to find new ways of seeing.
