Iwo Zaniewski made "Children’s Party in the Studio" with what looks like pastel or crayon, and you can see the process right there on the surface. It’s all about marks, and how they pile up and build into something like an image. The surface is alive with this feeling of being made by hand, by touch, by someone really present in the moment. Look at the figure doing a headstand in the bottom half of the frame - it's like they have been captured in a moment of playful energy. The texture is so immediate, you can practically feel the grain of the pastel on the paper. It makes you think about the physicality of making art, how it’s not just about ideas but about getting your hands dirty. This piece reminds me a little of Pierre Bonnard - that same sense of intimacy, and of capturing a fleeting moment. Art isn't about perfect answers, it's about embracing the questions and the possibilities.
