This copper "rekenpenning" (counting coin) was created by Philippe (II) Roëttiers for the city of Bruges, Belgium, sometime between 1694 and 1700. The coin, measuring 2.9 cm in diameter and weighing 5.74 grams, features a profile of King Charles II of Spain on one side and two lions supporting the city's coat of arms on the other. The coin is a testament to Roëttiers' skills as a medallist and serves as a historical reminder of Bruges' connection to the Spanish monarchy.
