Space And Nature 

Jiménez Deredia's sculpture “Space and Nature” employs the stark contrast of industrial materials against organic motifs to explore themes of balance and tension. The piece is structured around a rigid, rectilinear frame, a grid of metal bars suggesting both containment and open space. Within this framework, Deredia suspends a vertical chain of diamond-shaped elements, each bearing an abstract, tree-like form. The geometric precision of the diamonds contrasts sharply with the fluid, asymmetrical lines of the arboreal designs, creating a visual dialogue between the manufactured and the natural. The composition is grounded by an organic vessel, its smoothed surface reflecting the light and shadows. Deredia destabilizes traditional notions of sculpture by integrating spatial dynamics and challenging the viewer to consider the interplay between form and content, rigidity and fluidity, structure and nature.
