Keith Haring made this print using bold colors and simplified figures, probably as a silkscreen. It screams Pop Art, a world where process is about immediacy. The flat planes of orange, black, and yellow are like a playground where Haring's figures do their thing. Look at how the blue outlines these figures, making them pop out from the orange background. These bright colors give off a bold energy, like a comic book. There are so many simple shapes, the pure yellow circles, the stick-like limbs of the figures, and the wiggly lines radiating outwards from the figures. It feels like Haring is creating a little universe that is energetic and open-ended. Haring reminds me a bit of Léger, with the way he reduces figures to their most essential forms. Art is about connections, right? It’s about a conversation that keeps going, keeps growing.
