That focus on pure colour and form? It almost becomes less about depicting something, and more about *being* something. It feels less external and more immediate and felt. This reminds me that colour-field painters, such as Arico, believed a painting could be, above all, an experience of colour. It almost begs the question of space – is the geometry invading? Emerging? Dancing in slow motion? Editor: Interesting… I hadn't thought about it that way. I was so caught up in trying to decode some hidden message that I hadn’t noticed my experience. I was wondering what the negative space "meant," but maybe that's not the right approach. Curator: Precisely! The negative space is as important, really, as the blue form. Like the rests in a piece of music, it creates the space that gives the central idea clarity, context, strength, quiet. Now I find myself hearing Miles Davis... Isn't art wild?! Editor: Absolutely. This definitely shifts my understanding. Instead of dissecting meaning, maybe it’s more about… feeling the color and form. I am more curious now.
