Volker Seding made this black and white photograph of crabapples and the texture of the surface they're laid upon. It's a dance between light and dark that really grabs you, right? Look how each apple seems to have its own story, with marks and shadows that hint at time passing, like tiny portraits of aging. You can see the way the light plays on each apple, creating a unique little world on its surface. The tones are simple, but the effect is lush! It all reminds me of the still life paintings of Morandi, where everyday objects become profound. Ultimately, it's not about the apples themselves, but about how Seding helps us see the beauty in the imperfect, the transient, and the everyday.
