Ein Hund auf einem Stuhl liegend 

This charcoal drawing by Dutch Golden Age artist Nicolaes Berchem shows a dog resting on a chair. The dog's head is turned down and tucked under its body as if it is sleeping. Berchem is best known for his landscapes and animal studies, and his works often feature scenes from everyday life. This study of a dog is a fine example of his talent for depicting animals with great accuracy and realism. The drawing is currently housed in the Städel Museum.
