What can you tell us about this work? Curator: This piece offers an incredible look into the Constructivist principles in practice. We can see Popova experimenting with the language of industrial production through these carefully constructed forms. Notice how the red and black pigments are applied: the texture seems almost mechanical. Editor: Mechanical, how so? Curator: Observe the even distribution of pigment and absence of visible brushstrokes. It downplays the artist's hand.
