Torrent 2017

Nemanja Vučković created "Torrent," a 150 by 190 cm painting, using a mix of blues, greens, and yellows in what looks like a very active, physical process. The way the paint runs and drips suggests a real engagement with the materials, a kind of back-and-forth between control and chance. There’s a section near the top where yellow paint is splattered, almost like fireworks, and those little bursts of color really lift the whole piece. The texture seems key. I'm wondering what kind of brushes or tools were used here? It reminds me a bit of Joan Mitchell, especially in the way the colors blend and collide, but Vučković brings his own energy to it. Art's like a big conversation, right? Everyone riffing off each other, but always with their own spin. It's this constant push and pull that makes it so alive.
