Editor: This is Warren Mack’s print, “Fuzzy - heads,” and it pictures a collection of dandelions. The detail is incredible, it reminds me of botanical illustrations, but much darker. What do you make of it? Curator: Consider the dandelion itself, often regarded as a common weed. Mack's elevation of this plant prompts us to consider the politics of visibility, doesn't it? Editor: Visibility? Curator: Yes, how societal value systems dictate what is deemed worthy of artistic representation and, by extension, public attention. How do socio-political biases affect artistic expression? Editor: That’s fascinating. I never thought about it like that. Curator: It certainly broadens one's perspective on art and its role in reflecting, or even challenging, our values.
