"Leert/Mind'ren! booz beez Prenttafrcelen/ Humõtmatig lezen/ onder 't speelen" is a 19th century broadside by Dutch artist Erve H. Rynders, a form of illustrated print that served as a teaching tool for children. The broadside features twenty four sequential squares with images and captions, each with a simple moral lesson. This broadside, printed in Amsterdam during the 1830s, is an example of "Prenttafrcelen," or "picture-reading", a popular form of children's education in the Netherlands. It's a visually engaging teaching aid to convey moral lessons through simple imagery and caption text. This artwork, currently at the Rijksmuseum, offers a glimpse into the history of Dutch popular culture and children's education.
