This abstract composition with colored square shapes was made by Hryhorii Havrylenko, but when, we don’t know! I can imagine him in the studio, hunched over a table, lost in thought as he layers these blues and yellows. These watercolor washes remind me of an aerial view, like seeing parcels of land from above, maybe some fields of wheat. The way the colors bleed into each other suggests a kind of organic process, as if the shapes are alive and shifting. The single red circle feels like a focal point, a heart, drawing the eye and grounding the composition. It makes me wonder about Havrylenko’s process. Was he working from sketches or letting the colors guide him? These squares feel like a reduced language, a kind of visual poetry. It's like he's asking, what is the bare minimum you need to create a sense of space and depth? It's a beautiful exercise in simplicity.
