"Soga no Goro, Oiso no Tora, and Kewaizaka no Shosho" is a woodblock print by the celebrated Japanese artist Kubo Shunman, created in 1809. The artwork depicts three famous figures from Japanese legend, Soga no Goro, Oiso no Tora, and Kewaizaka no Shosho, dressed in elaborate kimonos and seated around a large butterfly. The intricate patterns of the clothing and the dynamic composition showcase the skill of the artist. The print is a striking example of the "ukiyo-e" (pictures of the floating world) genre, known for its colorful depictions of everyday life in Edo-era Japan. The work is now housed at the Art Institute of Chicago.
