This is Victor Vasarely's "Caracas-M," made with paint, though I don't know when. There’s a limited palette, mostly browns and yellows, that reminds me of old diners and graphic design from the mid-twentieth century. It's a reminder that art doesn't always need a million colors to make an impact. Looking closely, you can see the hand of the artist. The paint isn't too thick, but you can still feel its texture. It's almost like Vasarely wanted to keep it real, showing the process instead of hiding it. There's this one yellow triangle, perfectly imperfect, that stands out. Maybe it's the way it catches the light, or how it contrasts with the dark browns around it. Vasarely's work reminds me a bit of Bridget Riley. Both were interested in playing with perception, but Vasarely does it with geometry, creating a very different effect. It's like they're having a conversation across time, asking questions about how we see the world.
