Editor: Here we have John Loker's "Shifts (Gate)", and what strikes me is the almost dreamlike quality of the repeated gates receding into the distance. What do you make of this piece? Curator: It feels like a memory, doesn't it? Like fragmented glimpses of a landscape. I wonder if he's trying to capture the feeling of movement, of passing through thresholds. Maybe it's about the journey more than the destination. What do you think? Editor: That's interesting, I hadn’t thought about it that way. Curator: It's all a matter of perspective!
