Jason Limon created this curious image, Center, using a blend of painting and collage. The artwork presents a symmetrical arrangement of paper ephemera, dominated by two mask-like shapes at the top, which flank a central emblem with the words "Feels Good." These elements are layered over a muted background that gives the objects a floating, dreamlike quality. Limon’s piece leverages the semiotic power of found objects. Each fragment—a Hot Wheels logo, part of a vintage advertisement—carries its own cultural code. These codes are recontextualized, prompting us to reconsider their original meanings. The symmetry, combined with the mask-like shapes, creates a formal tension between order and the potential for hidden, perhaps unsettling, narratives. Note the layering and the distressed texture of the paper, which function as signs of decay and temporality.
