Curator: Garth Evans's sizable sculpture "Convoy" presents an intriguing configuration of wooden forms. Editor: My first thought is of a flattened landscape—or maybe the remnants of some ancient, colossal board game. There's something both monumental and strangely playful about it. Curator: The piece's structure foregrounds the materiality of the wood, emphasizing its grain and the marks of its construction, which invite closer semiotic analysis. Editor: I see it more as a kind of meditation on nature. It's about process, about the layers of time etched into the wood, isn’t it? It reminds me of stumbling upon some forgotten ritual site, full of stories whispered by the trees themselves. Curator: Perhaps, but I lean towards seeing "Convoy" as an exploration of geometric arrangements. Editor: It leaves me with the sense that there’s a hidden language in the arrangement of the blocks. Curator: A fitting conclusion, considering the artist's body of work.
