"Cor d'orchestre" (1845-1850) by Pierre Piatet (1796-1868) is a set of French horns, complete with their case, and is now in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The set includes the horns, their bells, and a variety of other accoutrements used in the performance of this type of instrument in the 19th century. These horns were used in the orchestras of the time, as the French horn was a popular instrument in Romantic era orchestral music.
